Once upon a time there was a Time Lord, who was the husband of very interesting woman. One Christmas, they had an amazing adventure, with kings and music and laughter and tears. But would they live happily ever after? Spoilers!
The Doctor and Clara in the TARDIS. Only, that can’t be anymore since Clara died, right? Well, with Time Lords, anything can happen. Almost.
The season comes to an end, as well as Clara’s time with The Doctor. We learn the identity of the Hybrid. Or not. All as part of a story that The Doctor tells … Clara?
The Doctor is all alone. Well, he does have his worst fears and his nightmares and regrets with him. Some comfort.
With Clara gone — but still in his memory — he finds himself facing the most difficult challenge of his entire existence.

SPOILERS! It’s Clara’s last episode. And it was heart-wrenching. It was an emotional setup to the season finale, coming up in a week.
Methought I heard a voice cry ‘Sleep no more!
Macbeth does murder sleep’, the innocent sleep,
Sleep that knits up the ravell’d sleeve of care,
The death of each day’s life, sore labour’s bath,
Balm of hurt minds, great nature’s second course,
Chief nourisher in life’s feast,–Macbeth Act II
To be, or not to be, that is the question:
Whether ’tis Nobler in the mind to suffer
The Slings and Arrows of outrageous Fortune,
Or to take Arms against a Sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them: to die, to sleep
No more;Hamlet Act III
The Doctor and Clara land on a space station in the 38th century, and face the thing nightmares are made of: sleep.
Okay, that sounded corny. But, it is Doctor Who. Corny sometimes happens.
It’s the first true solo episode of the season, and, if we believe what we saw, the Doctor lost the battle.
Sometimes, magic happens. A limited budget. A hole in the schedule to fill. A rushed script. Sounds like a bad situation, right? The stars could align and you get an awesome episode of TV. Or, you could get The Edge of Destruction. Larynn reviews the classic Doctor Who 2-episode serial, The Edge of Destruction.
For those wondering why Larynn chose someone named “Basil” to work with on the Doctor Who LaB podcast, The Zygon Inversion answers that question. Maybe.
We find out how the Doctor could escape an anti-aircraft missile, whether or not Kate could escape the Zygons, if Clara is still alive, and the Doctor’s first name. Well, at least three of those, anyway.
A great place to network and learn more about writing.
